instructional videos

I think the videos were very helpful and although some had minor complications that was fixable they helped. The video's I used the most was about the spreadsheets. These videos were very helpful. Thanks 4 taking the time out to make them.

My EDF Blog Assignment are now complete

This has been a fun and fast semester. It's finally over and I'm sure we will all have a A out of the class. Have a safe and fun summer!!

Last Blog

I learned a lot in this classroom I can honestly say. Before being enrolled in this class I didn't know much about computers but he basics. Now , I know how to do alot of different things. I created a website, I learned how to link pages, I used power point for the first time. I can go on and on!!!! I never made a trifold brochure and I made it and enjoyed doing the assignment as well. Excel was the worst assignment ever! Ha!Ha!Ha! I got through it and I understood what I was doing. It took me a dew times but I learned. I think thats what it's all about. seeing your progress at the end of a course. Overall, this was a interesting and challenging course for me. I really enjoyed the challenge, THANKS A BUNCH!!!

wikipedia

I like wikipedia if I was just looking up things for myself. I feel that it's not as reliable because you can go in and change information on this site. I use this website for myself sometimes because some of the information you can find on different websites and you know that it's true. On the other hand i feel that some instructors wouldn't accept this website as a source because you can mis inform someone if the information has been change and is not accurate.

I think this is a helpful video for students are people as a whole to understand the difference between growth and a fixed mind. I think the two different mind sets are very interesting topics to learn about. I really didn't know much about the mind sets until watching this video.

This will effect me as an educator because the difference in the two mind sets determine how your class will be taught. The students with the growth mind set will of course be the easier ones to teach. The challenge comes in with the students with the fixed mind set. Students with fixed mind sets are hard to show them different things. There not as willing to learn.

WGBH teacher domain

I thought the video was very helpful. I will use this in my classroom, with this you can show the kids what you are talking about. I think visual aids is better for children to learn instead of just explaining what to do.

There are many different subjects for the WGBH. Some of the subjects include engineering, life science, arts, etc. The videos are broken down in to many different grade levels and the subjects they may cover. I also saw a section there with free public lectures. I thought that was cool.

These type of videos the children are enjoying them as well as learning abut the subject you are teaching. They are very easy to access. Thats always a good thing for children.

I tunes univ

I tunes university is a neat program by mac that you may use in a classroom. It's a program that allows teachers to pick digital information from macs library and use it in the classroom. It ranges from songs for a music class, speeches, and lectures from morning class. The best thing about this is that all the information is free to students. It will work on any computer and also you may load it on your I pod.

I feel that u can use I tunes university in a lot of classrooms. Students will engage more and also want to learn. It will create a fun learning environment as well.I think I think in the near future everything is going to be digital and this will help alot.

ipods in classrooms

In the fall of 2004 Duke university gave i pods to 1600 incoming freshmen to see how they would apply this tool to help them learn. The I pods was mostly used for music class. The students also used it to save lecture notes, listing to music, and other digital things.

I think this was a great idea because students nowadays are using everything digital anyway. I think digital gadgets are great methods of learning. There time consuming as well. There is one main problem I would think and thats trying to get approval to use the content on a I pod in the classrooms.

fichbowl part 2

I read a post titled 180 days, and it talks about how there are many days of the school year that are not used for instruction. There also was a power point linked to the post that showed all the days that were not used for instruction. Some of the topics included the first day of class rewards, student and teacher sick days. The discussion was started by a college class was discussing a video and how the video incorporated technology in the classroom.

I agree that a large part of the school year is not used for student education. I think there are a lot of extracurricular activities that can be removed and the students may focus more on education. I think the extracurricular activities should be only for the students ho are passing. The rest of the time should be devoted to the children and their education.

I read about how this person felt to win best post. How he thought he didn't deserve to win. The questions or the list was quite intersting.
I thought this blog was pretty interesting. The more I read on, I wanted to continue to read. It was informative even though it was someone else opionion. I feel that it's good to read what otherpeople think and how they feel.

ACCESS

The ACCESS program is a free program to all public, high school students. The vision of ACCESS is to provide equal access to high quality instructions to improve student achievement through distance learning. The mission is to provide an infrastructure that delivers quality learning opportunities for all citizens.

I think this program opens a door for students that's not able to go to private schools. Being apart of this program allows the students to gain knowledge, and this will make them eager to learn. This program allows students that attends lower funding schools have a better education.

I think ALEX is a helpful site that will be utilized in my classroom. I will use ALEX when I'm making lesson plans, while demonstrating things to my students and to refer back to things that I may not remember. ALEX seems to be a very helpful and educational site.

I might use alex in many different subjects. There are many ways you may use this website to help out in your classroom. It can also be accessed at home as well. I would like to use this website as an educational site for myself.

When I viewed the Alabama Learning Exchange web page I saw a lot of helpful hints. The website was very colorful. You may sort out your courses of study. The web page also show you how to prepare your lessons plans and a lot of other helpful exercises.

I think this will be a very helpful web page for my career. You can access other helpful web pages. There are different subtitles. Overall, this is a very helpful web page and I'm excited to use it.

Did you know?

I watched the movie and I read some statements that wowed me. I feel that we as students and as well as when we get into our profession will use more and more technologies. The world today is communicating via Internet and other means. My personal opinion is that in a way it's a good thing and on the other hand I feel that it's not. I don't think it's safe and educational the way some of our children are using these different wireless communications. For example the internet can be very educational it's all in how you use it. Did you know opened my eyes to how we will be in the near future. overall I feel that it was very educational and I learned a lot from the movie.
